ETL

In the area of data engineering, ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load) is the general procedure of processing and moving data from one or more sources into a destination system that represents the data in a different way than the sources.

The data sources can be diverse and the extracted data can be in different formats. Data transformation consists of processing the data, cleaning it and transforming it into a suitable storage format/structure for query and analysis purposes. Finally, the data load describes the insertion of data in the destination database, the database from which the different reports and dashboards for analysis will be generated.
